General Practice Research

Research is a key principle of the NHS to improve the current and future health and care of the population. Research that involves patients and members of the public leads to results that are more reliable and therefore more likely to be put into practice. Patients currently registered with Vine Surgery Partnership may be invited to join studies if they meet the strict eligibility criteria. Patients will be fully informed about any study before they consent to take part in any research.

We want patients and the public to be involved in all stages of research. This covers:

  • Setting research priorities
  • Recruiting people into research studies
  • Understanding what the research findings mean for patients and how it can be utilised in Primary Care

What is REPROVIDE?

We know that often men are worried about the impact of their abusive behaviour on their female partner or ex-partners, but that it can be difficult to get help to stop behaving this way.

We also know that although there is limited evidence to suggest that group domestic violence prevention programmes work, there is not enough evidence to make sure that local councils will fund these programmes.

We want to test these programmes, so we can see if they really do help men and improve safety for their partners, ex-partners, and for children.

See this poster about REPROVIDE and this discusses why it is not OK to hurt your partner
